The main floor was the residence of the Milà-Segimon couple. Today it houses the exhibition space of Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera and allows visitors to discover original Gaudí features, from the open-plan layout and stone columns, some of them inscribed, to the decorated ceilings that once covered the rooms.
About the exhibition
La Pedrera presents The Nabis: from Bonnard to Vuillard, the first major exhibition in Barcelona devoted exclusively to this key movement of artistic modernity. The exhibition brings together a wide selection of works created between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, offering a journey that reveals the aesthetic and conceptual principles of a group that played a fundamental role in the transition from Impressionism to the early avant-gardes.
The art of the Nabis invites a careful and sensitive gaze. Through colour, form and compositional rhythm, the works explore the decorative nature of painting and its ability to integrate into everyday life. Visitors enter a universe where painting, decorative arts and architecture engage in constant dialogue, and where art is conceived as a holistic experience.
More than an exhibition, The Nabis: from Bonnard to Vuillard offers a unique opportunity to rediscover the creative imagination of a movement that championed the unity of art and paved the way towards modernity, in full harmony with the modernist architecture of La Pedrera.
